Cooking!

Part-time home chef

I've been cooking since I was a kid, inspired early by the people around me — my mom, my grandmothers, my uncles. Growing up, food was the centerpiece of everything. Large family holidays, backyard gatherings, Sunday dinners that seemed to last all day. Those early memories of kitchens full of people and something always on the stove never really left me.

These days I cook for myself, friends, and family — and I'm all over the map. Smoking and grilling, everyday weeknight meals, the occasional experiment that goes sideways. I'll try just about anything once. My motto has always been: “If you screw up, you can always order a pizza!”

I lean savory over sweet — give me a perfectly smoked rack of ribs over a layer cake any day. That said, I do love a good pie. Don't test me on that.

This page is a gallery of some of what comes out of my kitchen — the wins, the interesting attempts, and everything in between. Cooking is just another adventure worth documenting. Check the blog occasionally for recipes, stories, and whatever I happen to be obsessing over that week.

Recipe Success Gallery

Sometimes I follow a recipe to the letter. More often I have an idea of what I want to do and use elements from four or five recipes and see where it goes.

If something here catches your eye and you want to know how I made it — or if you're looking for ideas — feel free to reach out. I'm happy to share what I can!
